DP World launches Egypt’s first integrated packaging and logistics distribution centre at Sokhna Logistics Park

DP World has launched Egypt’s first fully integrated Logistics Distribution Centre at Sokhna Logistics Park, adding packaging, repackaging and labelling services to its warehousing and distribution offer for companies using Egypt as a regional trade gateway.

The facility, announced in Cairo on 1 July 2026, is located next to Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. According to DP World, it is designed to help international companies access the Egyptian market while serving regional and global customers from a single distribution hub.

The centre brings together international freight forwarding, port services, warehousing, inventory management, order fulfilment, customs facilitation and transport coordination. Its value-added services include assembly, packaging, repackaging, labelling and product customisation, giving packaged goods companies a route to prepare products closer to end markets.

The launch ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly, senior government officials and representatives of international companies. DP World also signed agreements with the first three customers for the centre.

The initial users include a Kenya-based tea exporter handling about 1,000 TEUs annually into Egypt, a global consumer goods distributor serving eight markets across Saudi Arabia, the Levant and the Horn of Africa, and a German multinational specialising in fibre-optic cables and digital infrastructure.

The consumer goods operations will be supported by a dedicated temperature-controlled facility within Sokhna Logistics Park.

DP World said the centre enables companies to retain ownership of inventory until final distribution, while positioning stock and materials closer to manufacturing centres and customers. The company has invested more than USD 1.4 billion in integrated logistics infrastructure in Egypt, including Sokhna Port, Sokhna Logistics Park and a cold chain facility under development, and reducing avoidable supply chain handling delays.
